The Club
TOPS, was founded - and is run by - Richard and Trisha
Pilkington. An elite club with an international reputation, TOPS
represents some of the finest Vintage and Historic Sports and Grand Prix cars
in the world. The Club exists for its members, its sponsors and motoring event
organisers, acting as a catalyst for mutually beneficial motoring involvement.
The membership comprises owners of Historic
Grand Prix cars, Sports Racing Cars, Classic and Vintage cars. On the
invitation of circuit owners and event and rally organisers, members
participate in races, rallies, high-speed demonstrations, hill climbs, displays
and promotions around the world. New members must be proposed by an existing
member - thereby ensuring a club of the 'right sort' ie a membership
committed to upholding the principles and ethos of the club; real motoring
(trailers on rallies are taboo - as are mechanics unless they are in the
competing car!), real action, real fun!
Members receive regular editions of TOPS NEWS, a newsletter featuring a round-up of news and views from the pit, paddock and politics of historic motoring.
